Weather or Not?

I had originally thought about writing about something else today, but have changed my mind.  Last Friday, a mere three days ago, when I left work at 2PM, the temperature outside was 103 degrees in Loma Linda.  Today, however, the temperature was 66 degrees.  That's quite a difference in just three days.  And then, as if the drastic change in temperature wasn't bad enough, there had to be rain along with it.  I woke up to wet streets and mist.  My car received a nice little car wash.  I even had to wear my coat again today.  So what's with the weather?

Some people could say that the whole "global warming" thing that Al Gore invented in wreaking havoc on the climate and making changes all around the world, making unpredictable weather.  Others say that it was a "nor-easter" wherin cold winter storms swing down from "the northeast" and bring extra rain and snow to parts of the country that were not expecting it (ie. the East Coast).  But what does that mean out here in California?

Absolutely nothing.

I'm not one to really believe Al Gore's theories on global warming, though they are interesting in the fact that as soon as he started talking about global warming, lots of different places started breaking cold weather records.  Classic.  Some of what he says could be true, but that's not to say that it is.  I think that no matter what Al Gore or other scientists suggest about weather patterns, it's all quite random and there's no way to really predict it.  Even weathermen get it wrong.  Honestly, sometimes it seems like they simply look out a window and determine the weather for the next couple of days.  In Southern California, it doesn't seem all that hard, except for when one of these freak storms appear.  Other than these, it's like, "sunny with some clouds and a light breeze".  Sometimes that could change to "Santa Ana winds, warm, humid."  Not much else.

Okay, standby for the weather report:  This week.  Rain.  And clouds.  And then some sun.  And maybe some wind.  And then it will warm up again.

See, I can be a weatherman too.

Until tomorrow.
