What's that saying? Family is great, unless it's yours?
Just kidding. I love my family and I love my extended family. In fact, because of the Easter holiday, we got to see the extended family today and it was so much fun. Abby, with her little legs running around the house, had a lot of fun with her cousins and playing OUTSIDE! (her favorite word as mentioned in a previous post)
Family is very important to me, as it is with most normal people and getting together with family is good too. It's seems to be more fun and yet a little more tiring when we get together though. I think this is because Abby is now moving around and we have to watch her like a hawk. Plus, her older cousins are more apt to play and run around and they might run her over accidentally. Of course they play with her as well, but sometimes they just want to do their own thing and that leaves Abby out of the mix. But she still has a cousin that is close to her own age that she can play with in the event that the older ones want to do something else. Then again, getting Abby to share a toy isn't always that easy.
Easter is a perfect time to see my daughter starting to grow up into a little girl. It's a time of renewal and new life and Abby is beginning her new life as a toddler (or a walker, a runner, a speaker, etc.). She's learning new things every day and having great experiences both OUTSIDE and IN. What other message of Easter could there be?
Jesus died to for all of our sins. He allowed himself to be sacrificed so that we could live our lives the way that we would - with regret, sadness and sin - and still love us for who we were. Just like family (in the most general sense of the term). Family is there for you no matter what (if it's a good family) and your family will always love you no matter what.
I hope that you were all able to enjoy your family today.
Hoppy Easter (yes, I used a secular pun with a religious blog post....sue me).
Until tomorrow.
