I've heard stories that McDonald's chicken nuggets are really bad for you. Everything from they use small traces of lighter fluid to it's not real chicken and everything in between. I never really paid attention to any of that but a story I just found on the Internet might change my mind. Though, probably not too much.
This story about a seventeen year old girl talks about how she has eaten McDonald's chicken nuggets for almost every meal for the past fifteen years - since she was two!!
There are two problems that I have. The first problem that I have with this story is why her mom is constantly allowing her to eat said chicken nuggets from McDonald's or KFC or wherever. Even if I wanted to when I was growing up, my parents would not buy me chicken nuggets all of the time. I actually was given food that was made at home by my mom or dad or grandma. And as I got older, I actually learned how to cook so simply going out and purchasing chicken nuggets, while an option, was not something that I did on a consistent basis.
The second problem is (and it requires actually clicking the link and looking at the article), how can the girl still be skinny?!?!?!??!? All those chicken nuggets and "crisps" (which is British for potato chips) and she's still skinny. Nowhere in the article does it talk about her doing any form of exercise, so I'm just amazed that she could still be skinny after all of that.
Obviously the mother tries to be a good parent and manages to get the younger siblings to eat healthy but this one girl simply won't. I wonder if she thinks she'll die if she eats something green. Ooh, look out, the vegetables are out to get you. At this point in her very young life, she had better start thinking about vegetables saving her life, not killing it. Plus, no matter what, her mother needs to simply stop letting her eat chicken nuggets. Not only is it ridiculously expensive over the course of the year, but as stated in the article, she seems to be receiving quite a number of toys and novelties each time she purchases the nuggets. Those can be annoying as well.
Take a hint, little girl. Try to eat some real food. Stick to junk food if you want, but find something other than "crisps" and chicken nuggets. Try hamburgers that actually have lettuce on them or pickles.
Until tomorrow.
