Now, despite the fact that I didn't manage to blog every day, I did manage to write thirty one blogs in thirty one days (including this final blog of the month). And, as the title suggests, this is a really good way to go.
During the month of March, I've been able to write blogs without much help of the Offbeat News (I used it once). But, having already written two blogs today and not much else to talk about (my baseball team didn't play today, so I'll wait on that topic), I figured I would peruse the Offbeat News and see what I could find.
Here's a great headline: Council declares children a public hazard
Nice, huh? Apparently in Australia the city council has decided that children that play with sidewalk chalk could become a hazard. You know, pedestrians walking along the sidewalk could somehow not pay enough attention to the child in the middle of the sidewalk and trip over them. It's a child, not a hamster. I'm sure a normal sized child is still big enough for a person to see and, I don't know, move around them and keep walking? Hmm?
Is it really necessary to suggest that children are a hazard to society? Naturally, this has parents and most of the community up in arms and I think that these people should move away and be public hazards in some other city in Australia. One that feels they could out maneuver children on the sidewalk.
Ridiculous is what I have to say about that article. Sure, the city council cites public graffiti laws and what not, but come on. These are kids just trying to have fun. Didn't Cyndi Lauper sing about that? Oh wait, it was girls. But you get my point. Kids. Having fun. With sidewalk chalk. Move around them people. It's not hard. Three steps to the right or left should do it. Oh yeah, and pay attention to where you're walking just in case one of those kids jumps in front of you and makes it difficult to step aside.
And so this is it. Thirty one blog entries in thirty one days. Not as seamless as I had hoped, but at the beginning of the month I figured something like this might happen. But I did it. Hooray for me. Like I've said before.....have a dream and fight for it. Now it's time to find another dream.
Until next time.
