The few of you that read my blog on a regular basis will know that I attempted to submit my novel to a literary agent in hopes of getting published. However, at that time, it didn't get accepted. That never deterred me - okay, it did for a little while. But now I'm back. The story, for the most part, is still the same, though I have rearranged it slightly in hopes of drawing the reader into my world and my characters. I have made a few other mechanical changes and actually added some content based on something that I wrote later in the story that I decided to flesh out a little.
So here's the deal: I have found a few more literary agents that are accepting queries for my style of story. There's no telling what will happen, but at least I'm putting my work out there once again. It sure would be nice to get paid to write instead of simply working for the money (not that I don't enjoy my job. Read yesterday's blog entry).
Regardless of what happens, though, I think I need to keep going in this pursuit of getting my work published. And no, I'm not going to try to publish it myself, nor will I ever pay to have it published. If someone wants it in print, they they will have to pay me.
