Just In Time

I knew this was going to happen.  I'd get busy and then I would almost miss a post.  Luckily, I'm still in Pacific Daylight time and I still have an hour before midnight.  But what should I talk about?  College Basketball?  No.  Writing?  No.  Movies?  Television?  No and no.

Today, I am going to talk to you about one of the most painful injuries anyone can possibly imagine.  It's nothing fatal or drastic, but it hurts like nobody's business.  It's a paper cut.  But not just any old paper cut.  This is really a cut from a piece of cardboard.  And anyone that has had this happen to them before will know what I am talking about.

It's not a pain that goes away in a minute.  It also doesn't just go away after a couple of days, unless it manages to heal quickly (and with Neosporin).  So for the next few days I have to have a bandage around my finger and constantly feel the burn as the pain shoots through my nerve endings.

This pain - a pain that I've had to endure before - has taught me a lesson.  Always use work gloves when trying to stuff cardboard boxes into the recycle bin.  That is the best advice I can offer at the moment because any other advice might be the pain talking (ie. get rid of all boxes by tossing them out without breaking them down, have someone else do it for you or stop recycling).  None of these are ideal options, of course, so you should just try to wear work gloves when working with cardboard boxes.  And if you don't, be very careful.

Until tomorrow.
