And because of that, attempting to decorate our house is very difficult. Joanna is good at seeing what she likes and doesn't like, but she's also not an expert when it comes to decorating a home. We have a lot of help, but there are still a lot of decisions to make. We were able to finally get an entertainment center (see previous post) and a china cabinet and dining room table are on their way. But it took a long time before we actually decided on the ones that were purchased. So it goes with our decorations for not only the baby's room, but for the rest of the house.
Today, we spent almost two hours picking out drapes for the kitchen. Two hours. Making sure that they were the correct length, the proper color to match various things, and so forth. This was very difficult. Not that Joanna and I couldn't agree on colors, but just the amount of colors and options when it comes to drapes is amazing. We had a nice person helping us, again, but it was just the fact that there were choices that had to be made that was difficult. Eventually, we found the drapes that we wanted and made our purchase, but not until after an exhaustive search.
Decorating is a chore. A chore that I wish I didn't have to do, but since I don't want to deal with an actual interior decorators unless it was one of those "celebrity ones", then I'm not going to bother. Oh well. At least we have drapes now. And some wall decorations. And a china cabinet and dining table on their way - soon.
Here's a tip: When you buy a house, buy one that's already furnished. It will save you money and headaches.
Until tomorrow.
