A New Look and A New Post

As you can see, I have decided to change the background and the colors of the blog.  This is only the second time since I've had this blog that I've changed the background.  I suppose after the 31 blogs in 31 days challenge, I felt the need to change things up.  And what better way to do that than by making a new background?

Let's see, what else is there to talk about?

Oh yes.  Tonight is the first episode of American Idol since the disaster of Pia's elimination.  I'm more curious to see 1) how many people watch tonight and 2) how many votes are cast.  Those should be interesting totals.  As much as I would stop watching AI, I have a feeling that Joanna is still going to want to watch just to see what happens and who happens to win.

Also, baseball is in full swing.  The Diamondbacks are being their usual self (5-5), though last night is looked like they had a little more fire than in previous years.  Manager Kirk Gibson getting tossed from the game probably helped a little also.  On paper, the Diamondbacks may not look like much, but they do have some spunk in them.  There's a lot of young players on the team, but enough veterans that can keep those youngsters in line.

Other baseball news, even though this isn't really a baseball blog, I have something to say about Manny Ramirez.  Basically, I think it's pretty sad that a player that had already been caught using PEDs continued to use them.  And then to cop out and "retire" so he didn't have to be suspended for 100 games, was even worse.  Come on, Manny, without the PEDs you might have still been semi strong, but you have to admit that at age 38, you weren't going to be the strongest player anymore.  Maybe that's why he took the PEDs, so he could keep up with the younger players and still feel like he could contribute to a team.  Regardless of the reasons, Manny has left the Tampa Bay Rays in the lurch.  They were already a team suffering a terrible start and a lot of injuries and for them to lose a decent hitter in Manny, well, we could probably write off their season unless Evan Longoria can come back soon (which is pretty doubtful).

Until next time.
